Just returned from NC and quite literally ate my way through my trip home (and yes Mr Customs officer that is a bottle of Cheerwine and two packs of country ham in my luggage... I don't find it that amusing.) I'll still make sure my hubby frequents your place though for the red velvets! New rule though? They have to go to work and not come home! Much love and may the force be with you!! :-pMichellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08243846435775069788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029266128054490930.post-11079951191882751012012-12-03T10:36:23.161+01:002012-12-03T10:36:23.161+01:00Inspiring... maybe I should start as well ;-) but ...Inspiring... maybe I should start as well ;-) but only after I have had a couple of red velvets and have tried your maple bacon muffin.

You go Ken!Verónicanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029266128054490930.post-27107791739226476392012-12-02T13:45:43.972+01:002012-12-02T13:45:43.972+01:00Ken, start your diet in January! Meanwhile, have fun in life, keep baking and stop being so hard on yourself.Alexandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05673441709859998609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029266128054490930.post-46590705452712619772012-12-01T18:51:14.026+01:002012-12-01T18:51:14.026+01:00Don't make it to hard on your self. Trust me, I know :) Just a diet isn't enough. And please don't think that it will be easy. It will be as tough as hell. But in the end, it'll be all worth it. It keeps your blood sugar relatively low during the day and helps keeping the cravings away.
Also - if you eat proteins you need smaller amounts of food and you will feel "full" longer.
I lost 18 kilos in 5 months and I have never felt better! I just made the "one day" last 10 months. :) xoxoGrumpy but sweethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13136362790985493988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029266128054490930.post-31265743198570661402012-11-30T23:36:15.006+01:002012-11-30T23:36:15.006+01:00If you want to lose weight, fair enough, go you!
...If you want to lose weight, fair enough, go you!

But stop slagging yourself and being so hyper-bleeding-critical, a negative attitude is no help to anybody who wants to lose weight.

My tips for a successful diet (after years of yo yo diets and depression):

1.Have one naughty treat a week - a cake, a bar of chocolate, whatever you fancy. Enjoy it - and don't feel guilty, just delighted that you can enjoy some deliciousness.

2. When you slip and eat something you shouldn't - it's NOT the end of the world. It doesn't mean you're an utter failure and it doesn't give you permission to go on an all-out binge to console yourself.

3. Go slow! If you want any chance to keep the weight off, you should be aiming at 2-3 lbs a week.

4. Exercise is good - but in moderation to start with, until you build up your fitness a bit.

I once managed to lose over 5 stone in 2-3 years, and it stayed off for a while. But I got comfortable with me the way I am - fat or fatter - so I don't care what I weight now.

And - diet for yourself, your health and your fitness - people who truly love you don't give a shit what you look like.

Doreen xxxxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
